Females are larger than males, with a length of about 51 centimeters. They prefer to live alone, in pairs, or in small groups. When they find food, they circle in the sky and dive to snatch it. Their diet includes small animals like frogs, toads, mice, snakes, and other mangrove forest reptiles.
